The London Eyealso known as the Millennial wheel, debuted March 2000. The 135 meter Ferris Wheel was designed by husband and wife architect team David Marks and Julia Barfield. The attraction was meant to be open for a year but quickly became a UK tourist favorite. Thus, the London Eye has remained open since and is currently sponsored by Coca Cola.
